Our story
Carolyn and Michael purchased Edelweiss Child Care Centre in September 1999. Carolyn was an Early Childhood Teacher who worked for many years in the school teaching system and also in the Specialist Behavioural Unit. Her passion for working with children led her to follow her dream of buying a Child Care Centre where she could work with children everyday in a family oriented environment.
Carolyn’s eldest daughter Lisa decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and upon completing University, joined the team at Edelweiss in 2000. After 25 years of providing quality education and care to the children of the area you will now find Lisa as the Centre Director and running the daily operations for the Centre.
Carolyn and Michael are very proud of the family environment they have created at Edelweiss Child Care Centre with both past and present staff and families.
In fact over the years each of Carolyn and Michael’s four daughters have worked at the centre in varying roles all while completing University Degree’s in their chosen fields and again when raising their young families.

Walking your little one through the gates for the first time can bring a lot of anxiety and tears (for both of you). However, after meeting our staff and seeing our centre, you’ll be more than confident that your child is going to receive the care and education that will best prepare them for their school years and beyond.
Edelweiss Child Care Centre is a privately owned centre and has been operating in Mortdale for over 40 years, 25 of which are by the current owner. Our Child Care Centre caters for children between the ages of 2 and 6 years with a range of exciting educational programs and activities in a high quality long day care setting.
